The ECNL is an independent, non-profit, member-based 501(c)(3) organization, with an independent governance and leadership structure. The ECNL Board of Directors and staff solely governs all programs and platforms. The ECNL is sanctioned by US Club Soccer.

Mission: To “Raise the Game” by elevating standards and experience in all aspects of female youth soccer.

Implementation: The ECNL four primary platforms to accomplish its mission:

Elite Clubs National League Homepage

The Elite Clubs National League is the highest competitive platform for youth soccer in the country.

NC Fusion’s ECNL program consists of two levels across the U13-U19 age groups:

Each team consists of 15-22 players with a maximum of 2 goalkeepers per team. The ECNL allows for up to 30 players per roster throughout the calendar year.

NC Fusion ECNL competes in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

The competition platform is comprised of regional conferences and tiered levels of national competition to allow the best match-ups across the league. The ECNL also hosts National Events across the country to give member clubs the opportunity to compete against non-conference teams.

2019 ECNL Club Map


NC Fusion ECNL RL competes in the ECNL Regional League Carolinas beginning in the 2020-2021 season. The following clubs were admitted into the league:

The ECNL Girls Regional Leagues provides a regional regular-season competition for teams from U13-U18/19, including a Regional League playoff at the end of the season. The top teams at the U15-U17 age groups will qualify for the Open Cup Division of the ECNL Girls Playoffs, the biggest and most competitive female youth soccer competition in the country.

The platform is not only expanding in leagues and clubs, but will soon be adding additional events, recognition and awards for top teams and players, and more programming for qualifying players and teams.

The ECNL Girls Regional League platform was piloted with one league in the 2018-19 season, expanded to six leagues in 2019-2020, and is poised for significant expansion for the 2020-2021 season, offering more clubs, teams, and players the opportunity to qualify for ECNL Girls competition.
