Jay Linney, Fusion East Jr Academy – Sets A Positive Example
Jay loves soccer, he started playing when he was 3 years old when his friend’s dad asked him to play on their U4 GUSA Rec team and Jay has been playing ever since. He even sleeps with his ball! Jay likes watching soccer too, his favorite team is Barcelona and his favorite player is Leo Messi. His favorite part about soccer is playing with friends, whether its a pick-up game, through the Fusion academy or with other teams in the area. When Jay’s not playing soccer, he likes to hang out with his pet lizard Sonny, play video games and play other sports. He also enjoys tennis, basketball and flag football.
Jay has is being highlighted here as he exemplifies many of the qualities we at NC Fusion look for in our players; Coachable, hard working, respectful, love for the game and, of course, humility. He always tries his best in every game and plays aggressively, however this is all with sportsmanship and an honesty that is admirable. Jay has been in the NCF GUSA Junior Academy for two years and has rarely missed any practice or event, this commitment coupled with a great attitude and work ethic has, by no accident, led to Jay improving as a player on the field. Off the field Jay is loved by his teammates and sets a positive example for all of our players to follow. Great Job Jay!
